About the Event

I welcome you to explore the wonderful world of honeybees. Bees have been a source of sacred healing and wisdom for thousands of years and it is time to go back and remember what we have forgotten and let bees be bees. Methods of caring for the bees have changed over time and not to the bees benefit, once you dive into their world you can see that it is perfectly designed for their robust survival.

Becoming a steward for the bees you will learn

~ How to read/ know your hive and how they act/react and care for them with respect and reverence.

~ The bees sacred history

~ Bee and Hive anatomy and democracy

~ Swarms

~ The hive as a medicine chest

~ Hive designs

~ Planting and planning for the bees

~ Legalities and responsibilities

Beehives are holy places and if you sit quietly before one you will see that bees are a bridge to those in between places which is where they share their knowledge with you.

This workshop is suitable for anyone interested in bees and their behaviour, those wanting to care for the bees, for beekeepers who want to deepen their connection with the bees and know it's more than just honey production.

Morning tea and lunch will be provided by Piccolo Farm and we will open a hive if weather permits.
