The comb/wax is essentially the filter of the beehive, often absorbing environmental and introduced toxins (pollution, pesticides, heavy metals and chemical treatments.) As a bee-centric steward, my hives are designed to mimic a perpetual tree hollow allowing the bees to be bees. With minimal intervention and absolutely no chemical treatments or feeding of sugar syrup the wax produced from these hives is pristine. It is important to know your beekeeper when purchasing wax.
